Born and raised outside Philadelphia, PA, taxidermist-turned-hairdresser Joey Silvestera has always been curious. The handiwork of his taxidermy past is evident throughout Blackstones, as well as his fascination with the history of hair dressing, cabinets of curiosity, and glorious times of olde. Joey cut his teeth at Toni & Guy then acted as GM of Mudhoney before co-opening his first salon, Beauty Parlour, in 2005. Joey broke out on his own with Blackstones in 2007, bringing a stacked clientele list mostly cultivated through word of mouth - an impressive following of style starters and influencers. He considers his work a craft, a technique honed from years of working with the best and developing his own style and sensibility.
